Activity & Interests
- If you’re wondering what I’m doing in my spare time, the answer usually has something to do with motorcycles - either riding them, working on them, filming content, or talking about them.
- I used to be your typical gamer, and have put more hours into ‘realistic’ shooters like Arma 3, Escape from Tarkov, Squad, etc., than I’d like to admit - hopefully I will have time to get back into them soon!
- I worked for years - and still do - as a freelance writer in the history niche; for 3 of those, I covered WWII day-to-day chronologically, so I’ve got stories upon stories to talk about.
- For two years, I baked my own bread every week.
- I love cooking and trying new recipes, especially if they’re exotic and spicy.
- My GF recently introduced me to anime, and I’ve fallen in love with it since.
- I was one of the first people to beat all the story and side quests in Cyberpunk 2077 upon release - so it’s safe to say that I’m a huge fan of near-future science fiction dystopias.
- On the surface, I’m a walking stereotype - bikes, going to the gym, buzzcut haircut - but anyone who knows me will tell you I’m the least definable person around because I’m open to everything and everyone.
- I’ll tell you I don’t want a political discussion, but my inner political scientist will be screaming out for one.
Overview
Hey Pandas! I’m Tarik, a Community Manager at Bored Panda. Day-to-day, I help creators present their posts in the best possible way, spotlight great work, and keep an eye on community activity so discussions stay welcoming, constructive, and fun. Before joining Bored Panda, I worked in freelance writing and project coordination/management at my alma mater. Outside work, you’ll find me carving corners on my motorcycle, falling into history-related rabbit holes, keeping up with politics, and occasionally building scale models or Lego “for five minutes” that turns into an entire evening. I also have a weakness for bold colors, sunsets, and wonderfully strange animals.
