2) Slide pieces of cardboard between the plates and the door 3) Open the door
4) Put the plates back on the shelf

Knock the window above the plates out then replace the window..glass is cheaper than antique porcelain!

Use a glass cutter to cut around the frame use suction cup to take glass out the use ur hand under the plates to lift the while steady holding the ones on the shelf.

Make a flat, sturdy, soft big spatula of sorts (like a giant flyswatter covered in soft fabric). Take the hinges off the right side while holding the door in place. Slide the "spatula" through the opening where the hinges were, and twist it so it will be horizontal instead of vertical to catch the dishes, or at least give them a softer landing as you slowly open the door.
