'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.

An A4 sized sheet of tin, with a thin layer of rubber mat stuck to it. Super slowly open the door and push tin/rubberin it's place, on an angle so that the bottom of the tin almost tucks under the shelf.

The best solution is often the simplest. Get some couch cushions, mattress, or something soft and place it at the bottom of the cabinet. Simply open. Collect your undamaged plates and place them neatly back on the shelf.
