Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.

This cupboard appears to SLIDE open to the right...I would start by finding a very skinny long-limbed left-handed and coordinated (maybe who loves beading or stitching) 12-yr-old girl, slide the door 1 cm at a time, and as soon as her skinny wrist can fit in have her carefully find a stability pressure point to allow you to advance the door all the way. Or...CRASH and be done with it.

Remove (or cut) the pain of glass just below or to the right and remove the plates slowly. Then go after your prankster kid with a wooden spoon.

Trace and Score the glass to the right and then carefully remove and then you can grab the plates. Otherwise carefully put your hand from the bottom of the door or have someone do it and open the door carefully. As you open the door little by little maneuver your hand up the space until you've been able to grab the first plate and then the others. Otherwise have a large cushion at the bottom after opening the door and hope to not have little to non broken when they fall and hit the blanket

Contact the maker of the dishes. Let them know of your dilemma (sending them a link to this article so they can see all of the attention this is getting). I'll bet that they would be glad to replace them, should you break any of them during your rescue attempt because of the positive publicity they would receive for their good deed. Win-Win!

If possible, unhinge. Without removing door, slide door up (with assistance) until the bottom of the door is aligned with the lowest plate. Tip the top of the door towards you and allow plates to slide on to inside surface of the door.
