Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Try getting a big blanket and have the plate kind of conveyor from the blanket, to a lower point (that is padded) and have someone pick them up quickly so the plates don't smash each other

Go down in the basement and open the breaker box. Find the breaker labeled gravity and flip it to the off position. This solution works best with 2 people. You kinda have to be quick because everything else in the house will float around then look out when you flip it back on. Good luck

Patiently, steadily, and slowly open the door while making sure the bowls don't break. Practice, practice, practice. Listen closely to your heart, trust your gut, and most importantly, believe in yourself. Have faith in that you were born to overcome challenges. Rise and go on to inspire others. If I can do it, you can do it. Cure cancer.

Get a blindfold, earplugs, and a laundry basket and line the basket with blankets on the bottom and sides. Put on your sight and sound gear. Hold the basket under the cupboard as you open the door moving it closer to the plates as they fall out. Some plates will break but at least you didn't see who did it.

Get two people to stretch a thick duvet immediately underneath the cabinet to make a safety net and let those bowls drop on it. Hope this helps.
