Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Open the door, catch ad many as you can, let the others fall where they fall then with the broken pieces you can create a mosaic piece that will match the remaining set...

Gently slide a large trash bag through a small crack in the door, into the cupboard leaving the open end of the trash bag outside the cupboard. Then fill it with air, or expanding foam. This would then fill the space below and around the dishes, allowing you to open the door and recover the precious porcelain plates.

if you get a glass cutter you can cut the glass on the right of the door and put your hand through to hold the dishes up. As you hold the dishes up you can have a second person assist you to open the door and put all the dishes back into place with as minimum of loss as possible.

Adjust the cupboard according to the earth's rotation. Then simply stop the rotation. The kinetic energy will do the rest.

Wipe the glass with a wet towel, hold a sharp pencil vertically in front of the glass, pointing at the middle of the lower plate - then open the door, let the plates crash and buy new ones.

1) Make soup for dinner.

Cover the inside of a box with towels and blankets then open the cupboard into the box. Be sure to hold it close to the cupboard so that the plates can't fall quickly enough to break in each other. And of they do break the towels and blankets will keep it contained.
Or... You make the person who put the plates away open it.

Oh dear some of the replies here are funny but there's also good replies. I would def do the easiest & safest thing. Someone suggested tilting the cupboard back & then get them out. Also, you can purchase a glass cutter pretty cheap these days, you can cut a round circle just big enough for your arm to fit through. This way you don't need to smash anything. Got a diamond ring? Ha if you don't wish to damage or cut the front, go from behind but be wary you don't knock the plates off the shelf.

Put something soft under it/where plates would fall. Open. Let the plates hit that.
