Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Open the cupboard door really fast with a basket of laundry underneath!

Get a few billion of your closest friends to all walk opposite the rotation of the earth (see Coriolis effect), and when gravity has sufficiently been reversed, easily reach into cabinet and restack the dishes. Or just never have soup or cereal for the rest of your life. Your choice.

think i would find a springy mattress and place it right at the door and open the door just a little..and quickly slide the mattress as near as i can to the insides of the cupboard...and open it even more again, and slide the mattress closer within again. until i managed to get the whole mattress aligned with the insides of the cupboard. hopefully the plates land safely on it , in the meantime too.

Build a wall. And have the plates pay for it.

Book a private plane. Bring along your cupboard. Ask the pilot for a free fall. The gravity will now be temporarily disabled. Open the door slowly. Collect your plates. Can't go wrong.

Pull the cupboard away from the wall, then slowly lay it down, and then it should be more safe to open!

1. Take out the top glass of the cupboard. Handle with care. Either one. Probably can glue it back later.
2. Take out the porcelain one by one. Done

First: go to a store and buy new cups.
Second: open the cupboard.
