Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

I'm sure David Blaine can handle this one. The guy regurgitates frogs, makes playing cards appear in your pocket, and accomplishes amazing magical feats. Worst case scenario, he makes your fine china disappear.... In the garbage.

I like number 5, the most reasonable. I would open the cupboard door a little and put my hand it enough to get the bowls close to the door and work my way back.

Let them fall...use the pieces to tile a table top. Figure out how to NOT have this happen again.

just leave it. claim it as a art / conversation peice and buy new dishes and store them in a safer place where the gap between the shelf and door is not big enough for a bowl to fall between.

Hold the door in place while removing the screws from the hinges. Then slowly tilt the door out from the top until you can stick your hand in and rescue the bowls.

Purchase octopus, place octopus under cabinet door...the octopus will catch the dishes as they fall.

Move the door to the right as far as you can. Place a flat surfaced item in front of the bowl and push back. (I have a steel flat yard stick that I would use). Get another, if you cannot do it alone, to open the door a but further. Inch along like that until you are able to get hand/s into the cupboard to save all.

Rig a wire hanger to come in from the side and push plates up before opening it carefully. Looks like there is a space.

Duct tape fix everything. Put some on a pencil with the tape sticky side out. Use it to tick to one plate at a time. Reapply new tape as needed. Or use packing peanuts. Fill the are under the dishes open slowly and remove dishes.
