Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

you probably cannot save them all but most of them can be secured.
you have to cut the glass windows above and below the shelves.
And below the shelves. put some Styrofoam peanuts on the floor right below it (it is for minimizing damage might work or not) then using two people one holds the end of the stack and the other one pushes all the plates back to where it should have been.

Sit, cry, and wait for the problem to solve itself

Remove or break the glass on the right side. It would be less expensive to repair than replacing the bowls.

Carefully cut the glass along the wood supports. I am referring to the glass on the right and below the dishes. Use a special tool for cutting glass and be careful not to cause vibrations. Then reach in with your hand and set the dishes upright. You can always replace the glass. Next time don't stack the bowls so high and close to the edge if you live in a place which is prone to quakes.

1 place pillows on the floor around the door. Crack the door open and slowly slide the hand in. Or lay the hutch on its back slowly and open that way.

Get a tub or bucket of water right up underneath the door and underneath the falling plates. Cross your fingers and open the door letting the plates fall in the water. Glass and some ceramics behave differently in water. Seriously look up youtube videos about cutting glass with scissors underwater. Much less breakage.

Slide door enough to get some gum tape in the opening and secure tape on the dishes, when secure slide the door a little more so that you can slide your hand in to lift the dishes out of the way.

Remove the putty from the pane above left. Take glass out and reach in and place hands around all three bottom bowls at once,,, lift up and backwards rotating them to the right until you have all the bowls on the shelf and manageable. simple really :)

Put a picture frame around it and call it a work of Art!

Tape the door shut, gently pull the cabinet away from the wall, remove the back of the cabinet (most are bradded or stapled) and grab the stack of dishes from the backside. With the door being taped closed, they shouldn't fall, and you should be able to grab them safely.

Do the doors slide ? If yes then slowly slide till you can fit your ar
