Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Determine which is least expensive, the cost of the plates or the cost to replace the glass in the door. To save the plates, break the glass at the top of the door since there appears to be nothing leaning against that area, reach in and reset the plates. Once everything is in place open the cabinet and measure/replace the glass in the cabinet door.

Determine which is more valuable, the plates or the glass to the cabinet door. To save the plates, break the glass at the top of the cabinet door, reach in through the opening and reset all the dishes. Once everything is secure open the cabinet and measure/replace the glass for the door.

Looks like a sliding door. Slide it open a little, stick your arm in and use a butter knife as a wedge to create enough space for your fingers to get under the plate that is against the glass, then carefully put everything back.

Put the entire cupboard in a space shuttle. Fly up to when there's no gravity. Open the cupboard and rescue the dishes.

Looking at the way the plates are being "held in place", it doesnt look like it will fall that easily, thus I would press the door against the plates n open it very slowly till my hand can fit in to push them back up slowly..

Stand on the tip of the kitchen table and see how it makes the plates feel.

Take the hinges off the right side. Open a little bit and use a small stick or someone with a skinny are to push them back.

Ask the Doctor to step into his Tardis and travel back into time to when the plates were upright. Prevent it from happening again.

Break into a highly secured house and steal the suit, put it on, freak out and get arrested for putting it back. get broken out of jail and learn to speak to ants. Tell them to rearrange the plates however you like. Or you can get in and help them.

Open the door very slowly. The bowls will start to slide down, then shut the door, then open again until they start falling into the shelf below and they are stable. I don't know. I think you're screwed.
