Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

The shroedinger solution. Paint the glass black and claim that the plates inside are broken and not broken at the same time.

Cut a piece of window under the plates with a special tool for cutting windows or mirrors, which is not very expensive.
Then gently place your hand or a tray inside as close as possible to the plates, right before you open the door, to catch at least some of them.

Add suction cups to the lower cupboard pane glass. (to hold it for the next step)
Using a glass cutter, cut out the lower pane glass, be careful not to shake the cupboard to much
Use some sandpaper and gently smooth the cut glass so you will not cut yourself, although you should have enough room to access the lower half.
Stuff the lower part with soft material like a small bed sheet or something up to the point, but not at where the lower plate/bowl is levitating.
Open the cupboard door.

one person holds a cushion below the door, ready to catch plates. hardly open the door and have a small handed person (donald trump ?) squeeze his hands in there and attempt to prop the plates up or at least control the landslide of plates on to the cushion below.

Get a large blanket or sheet, hold it open just below the door. You might want to add some pillows for extra cushioning.

Open door just a tiny bit. Shove an empty garbage bag in there and spread it as much as you can on the bottom with a rod or a coathanger. Make sure the bag sticks out the door a little bit. Fill the bag with expanding foam untill the bag inflates all the way up to the plates. Open door, remove plates savely, remove garbage bag with foam

You're going to need a ladder, blow torch, duct tape, wood glue, a cardboard box, 3 ink pens (blue, black, red), a yo-yo, some bubblegum, a clown wig, and somebody to hold my beer.

Use a diamond tipped drill and drill a small hole in a glass panel. Buy some expanding foam in a can and put nozzle through the hole you drilled and press the button. The foam will expand and hold all your plates together. Wait for foam to cure then open cupboard

Just place the pillows under the cupboard. And if plates will fall they will not break.
