Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Open the other side of the cupboard. Saw a square or a hole out on the connecting side of the cupboard and tale it out from there. Or just open it and make it rain like all my broken hopes, dreams and promises I don't care....

Ok so buy an identical cupboard and bowls, keep the receipt! Go to original cupboard open door slowly and if disaster strikes put broken bowls in bin and chuck out cupboard for being crap! But if successful and you catch bowls, use receipt and take back new cupboard and bowls and get a refund. There, done.

Fill the entire cabinet with golden syrup through a drilled hole at top (this can be bogged up later), open door. May need some temporary sealing to hold syrup in.

Open the cupboard a wee tiny bit...feed in a balloon and blow it up to support the plates.

Did you Save before you went into the kitchen? If yes, load the save and you're fine.
If not, go to the cupboard level, Save, and if you fail, just load again. Simple.

Instead of posting to the internet asking for help, post to the internet asking for how many entries into a sweapstake to see how many plates will smash and into how many pieces.
Use profits to buy new stuff.

Drill a small hole on the wooden sash and pump in a can of expanding foam. Open door, remove plates and foam. Simply repair hole again afterwards

This is a wooden cupboard..
Which means you can unscrew the nails of the back plate and remove the back of the cupboard and approach to the glassware..
Which means you can unscrew the nails of the back plate and remove the back of the cupboard and approach to the glassware..
Never try to approach from front.. Even by smashing the front glasses.. A slightest shock from front May lead to impact on the glassware and can damage without or by falling..

Speed, no hesitation, open door quickly and grab the plates. Looks like they have a long way to fall, so catching them will be easy. Have a brush and pan ready - just in case.

Open the door, run away & record the noise. Then make a huge mozaīk out of the mess. Sell the mozaīk and the noise and buy yourself a better set of plates ;)
