Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Get doused with a cocktail of various chemicals, obtain the ability to move with the speed of lightning, move at lightning speed and pick out the plates, get yourself a superhero costume, fight crime.

We cannot see the whole cupboard... but it may be possible to take the hinges off & open from the other side. If not, then perhaps removing the back panel?

Jack one side of the house up to tilt the entire cabinet back until the angle allows you to open the cupboard without plates falling to the floor... Ensure you secure all valuables in other areas to prevent them falling as the angle increases.

There should be a handle on your cupboard, grab it, pull it, and boom, you opened the cupboard.

Find a piece of plexiglass or 1/4" plywood that fits the width and long enough to slide it up from the gap in the bottom to hold the falling bowls whilet you open the door slowly.
This would be your best chance if you have already tried everything else above.
Good luck !

Stuff as much towels or crumpled newspaper into the lower space in the cupboard as possible. Then carefully open the door enough to remove the plates.
Do it by very carefully opening the door enough to get a hand or at least a towel or paper on a bent wire coat hanger through it.
The plates look as if the nestle in each other enough to tolerate a little movement of the door. Be very careful.

Put this same photo on eBay and sell both the plates and the cupboard while they're still in tact. Problem solved!

Get a glass cutter and carefully cut out all the glass panes (top and bottom), leave the glass pane holding the dishes. Get someone to assist you... on the count of 1,2,3 you hold the set against the glass, while the second person hold the dishes still on shelf. Have the glass panes replaced.

Unplug it for 10 seconds and plug it back in. Works with everything else, so not? 😂👌

Grab a bottle of that spray that makes anything unbreakable, open a little and spray the bowls. Then simply open and let the bowls fall with no worries.

Smack whoever stacked them like that in the first place. Smoke a joint. Call it a life.

Open the other door, keep 2-3 pillow in the rack down below and start removing the plates slowly.

Is it a sliding door? If so, slowly slide open and slip your hand in to grab those bowls and open the rest of it to rearrange it again.
If it is pull open type, try to grab something thin but firm to slip in to hold the bowls and carefully open up to arrange the bowls again.

If you can manage to stop the first from falling none others would. Have a strong scale (made of steel or wood) and with the cupboard slightly ajar, insert to be just beneath the base of the first one. Ensure that it is taut and can carry of the weight of the plate/bowl. Have your husband or friend be near by and when the door is opened immediately catch the others. Also depending on how high the cupboard is you can also put a cushion / sofa beneath just in case one or two were to drop.

Call anybody from the Schrödinger memorial house: you found the same problem, but instead of cat with plates...
