Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

If you remove the glass on the upper left side of door while standing on a chair you can reach inside there and take them out slowly.

Murder your partner and their lover, get sentenced to life at Shawshank, befriend Morgan Freeman, ask for a rock hammer then spend 19 years working away at the wall on the other side of the cupboard, rescue your dishes then crawl through a pipe full of poo and go live on a beach in an boat. Simple

Remove all other sides except for the door eliminating the need to even open the door in the first place.

Discard the third dimension. This will leave only 2 dimensions to deal with. Don't be alarmed but you'll find everything incredibly flat. Oppenheimer the door at your leisure and straighten the dishes. Easy peasey.

Carefully cut 2 holes in upper and lower panes. blow in dry paper insulation or similar from the bottom. recover the dishes through the top hole. Get good advice at a hardware or home store for details.

Lay the cupboard down on its back and remove all the plates. Bring it back up and replace them safely.

Swing a sledge hammer directly into the cupboard. Take comfort in your choice to destoy the plates, rather than your failure to stop them from breaking. I charge by the hour.

Slide a flexible cutting mat in there and have a friend slide the door slowly as you push against the pasto hold the plates in place.

Take a yardstick, open the door ever so slightly, maneuver the yardstick in front of the door and push them backwards back onto the shelf.

if you can cut a hole in the wall behind it and fill it all with Styrofoam packing chips - starting at the bottom level may help. If its a normal wall its only 2 layers of drywall and patching drywall is fairly straight forward. If you have a shop vac - you can turn it into a blower and fill the whole thing with styrofoam chips. (if you can't access the back wall though -I don't really have another idea... that thing is going to fall if you have to open it from the front.

The thin cardboard idea is the best so far. You could actually probably open it two inches and insert a reasonably stout piece of cardboard - perhaps a packing box - to hold the dishes in place while you fully open the door.

Pull the bottom of the cabinet out and up while pushing the top of the cabinet forward and down. You might want to do it slowly......you wanna at least save the one red dish

Opening the door doesn't mean the bowl will drop. do it slowly till hand can slide in and hold the bowl. Glass and glass dont have much friction.

Bring it to the auction house. Let people bid this schrodinger cupboard for the highest price. You could even buy a new house all together. =D

Tell that little Indian that lives in there that you'll make sure the pipeline goes away if he fixes them.
