Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Invite the entire clan for Thanksgiving dinner, whoever gives the best solution can have a second helping of dessert and free of dishwashing and cleaning up chores. Good way to identify the smart ones amongst your kin.

Set up a video camera to record what you do with this, and send the video to YouTube. Then, start a go fund me campaign to get people to pay for the damages from whatever solution you use. You may then either break a window to retrieve the dishes, or open the door and let them fall into some sort of catch basin. Then, you can use the funds provided by the campaign to pay for the damages. Make sure to upload the video of what you do so that the people who funded you can see what happens.

Place a bunched up fluffy blanket underneath, open the door just slightly to let each plate fall one by one onto the blanket recoving each plate as it falls. Make sure to control the door very carefully and never let go of it, the pressure from the falling plates could force the door open. There's a risk of some breaking if they fall a few at aa time but this method works, been in the same situation before.

Find someone to help you. one person unscrews the door. The other holds it strongly as they slide the glass door down until you can reach the bowls from above. You may need to be on a ladder to retrieve the bowls before they tumble

1) Create a fabric slide by taping one end of a sheet to the bottom of the cupboard, the other end to the floor. At the bottom of the slide, place cushioning material - pillows, blankets, etc - in front, behind and on the sides of the slide.
2) Without opening, or only as little as you can, slide a piece of poster-board or foam core up under the cupboard door to guide the bowls from the middle shelf over the bottom lip on to the fabric.
3) Open quickly - have a 3rd person to catch/remove.

Replacements, Inc?
Maybe, cut out the right side glass and have one person reach in and support the plates hanging off the shelf, while a second person attempts to remove the dishes that are on the shelf so they can pull out the ones hanging off.

Get a glass cutter, cut the glass on top, climb up the ladder, rearrange the dishes.

Ask them politely to stop that and to get back in line.
