Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

You will need 4 or 5 people to do this. Slide a bed sheet through the door while it is still closed, keeping it taught. Someone makes sure the door doesn't open. Someone holds the bottom of the sheet and someone holds the top. As you begin to open the door slowly someone else puts their hand in to help the plates land slowly into the sheet..... May or may not work...

Cut a hole through the backside of the wall and take them out one by one. Would be pretty easy and cheap to patch one hole compared to replacing a pane of glass or your broken dishes.

Carefully break the panes above & below the falling ones. One person reaches in the bottom pane to secure the ones touching the glass. The other simultaneously goes in thru the top pane & secures the next few which would then fall also. The bunch on the right will likely stay put til you open the door. (Only works if glass repair costs less than broken bowls saved.)

Just open the door. The porcelain and the glass on the door will break but you will learn the best lesson nobody else can teach you... Share the lesson with us afterwards.

Buy a monkey and put him on the top of the cabinet. Then train him to reach his little arms in from above and hold the plates while you open the door.

They are not plates; they are bowls.

Cut a hole in the wall behind the cupboard, reach through, and put them back in place. If you're lucky it's a closet.

Tape notes or your kids' art over the windows. Then, hire the dumb blonde down the street to babysit. Have her set out dishes on the table for the kids. When the dishes come crashing down, tell her she has to pay for the damages by working till they are paid for. Woo hoo, free babysitting for a year!
