Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Sine this seems to be a sliding door, opening it wouldn't be an option and tilting the cupboard is just risky.
I would get a small blade and carefully remove the wooden trims on the panel above the dishes,
The trims are mostly secured with wood glue and/or silicone and can come off.
Then carefully remove the glass panel, reach in to rearrange the plates.
Put the glass panel and the wooden trims back with glue and you are done.

Grow 42 extra arms, and open the cabinet and catch them all

Given that the door has remained closed despite the weight of the plates against it, combined with the embedded hardware and build of the cabinet, it is safe to assume that this is in fact a sliding type cabinet in which case I guess the answer your looking for is swipe right?

Take the cupboard down , put it in horizontal position and then open the door of the cupboard :D.

Have a long thin pillow or a slab of foam (like you get from a furniture store/department). Quickly crack open the door a bit and shove in the foam/pillow before a plate falls. Keep opening the door a tiny bit and shoving in foam/pillow until the opening is large enough for you to slide your hand through. Arrange the plates so that they won't fall anymore. Open the cupboard.

Remove the hinges and gradually apply pressure on the glass pane where the plates are making contact while slowly opening the cupboard from the hinged side, allowing enough room for an arm to fit through to grab and lift the plates back onto the shelf.

Lots of pillows and soft blankets all over floor and counter to catch any falling plates you can't catch when you open the door door

Seems like this is a sliding door. Slowly slide open until your hand can reach. Take out dishes by dishes.

1. Unscrew cupboard door off the hinge. If you can't reach the hinge or the hinge is inside the door, cut through the hinge; it's easier and cheaper to replace the hinge than it is to replace the glass or the door!
2. Tilt the door out of the cupboard far enough to reach a hand in, holding the part of the door holding the fallen plate still so the plates don't move
3. Reach in and save plates
4. Re-attach door!

Cut through the pane ABOVE the fallen dishes, reach through the pane, support and rearrange dishes, replace single pane from door. Don't arrange things that way again.

Face the fact that it's all going to break and just open the cupboard with a smile on your face! ^^

Push the top of the wardrobe to sway back enough for the plate to slide back to its place.

You will need:
A dust sheet, a nail, a small hammer, PVA Glue, a hoover, a toilet roll tube, felt-tip pens, ice cream
Step 1: cover the cupboard with the dust sheet
Step 2: draw a large circle over the area where the plates are
Step 3: paint pva over the circle, and in the centre stick the toilet-roll tube and squash it flat. Make a mark on the tube
Step 4: hammer the nail into the tube and gently through the glass
Step 5: cry 'coz everything broke. eat ice cream
Step 6: hoover

As I can see, it's the sliding door so I will softly slide the door a little bit then sneak my hand on to hold the bowls
