Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Okay, here's what you need to do. You have kids right? Go tell one of the kids to grab something for for you out of that cupboard. And when the kid opens the cupboard and the plates fall and break it'll be the kid's fault and you are free and clear!

Remove the top of the cupboard. Send in your grab claw to fish out the plates and hope they don't break by slipping from the grab claw!! Or better, get on a ladder and throw them at husband for creating the problem!! @sanjaymaz

If the plated are irreplaceable, I would probably break the glass on the right so I could reach in and restack the plates.

Slide an air bag under bottom of the door then inflate enough to cushion the blow you never know might bounce back into a neat stack good luck is all I can say I have skinny wrists you can hire me to catch the plates as you open door slightly

Open the door slightly. Slide a totally flat cookie sheet or some other flat but dependably strong thing up to block in all the bowls. Secure the cookie sheet and the bowls in place as you slowly open the door. Slowly slide the cookie sheet down and work on restocking the bowls from top down. Done. Actual useful answer. Then find a new way to stack expensive shit. Cause this will happen again lol.

The glass is set in a pane, cut open the kit, remove glass carefully with vacuum thing, so u dont drop it, insert arm and grab plates, put them back in place, place window back, and add some silicon kit back in the edges. Window is stuck again and everything is fine

Crack the door and blow up a balloon or two on the inside then take towels or a dish rag and put underneath the balloons until you can crack the door just enough to grab the first dish and push them all back to safety.

Open the cupboard, let the plates smash, blame the kids. Husband will see your heartache and buy you a new set!

I say slide a piece of cardboard up behind the door to keep the plates from falling when you open it. Then, you can slide the cardboard up or over or reach over the top of it to rescue the plates. Put a big fluffy folded blanket on the counter underneath for backup.

Create a Greek Zorba Party. Sell the tickets online by here. The cupboard opening time will be the main moment. Than, use the earned money to buy a new one

With utility knife or scraper, you can cut away the glazing putty that holds the top left window in.
A product called Jasco may help soften the glazing. It's pretty caustic, though.

Open it just a slight bit. This will allow the plates to shift ever so slightly to the side.
Go get some wine.
Watch your favorite TV show.
Done.
