Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

From the picture above, from the position of the plates falls & the handle of the door, I think this is a slide door. Just slide open a little until your hand can reach and enter and arrange the plates.

cut the glass out of one of the right side panes. Grab what is about to fall...then once all is fixed...replace missing glass.

open e right sliding door and clamp the plate, then open the left sliding door slowly. moderated risk of breaking 2 plates, but at still a good 50% chance of not breaking any.

I would get one of those large disposable aluminum baking trays and put a pillow inside of it at the bottom , then open the door slowly and place it at the bottom of the cupboard to catch the plates

I would very gently and slowly (and with some help) pull the bottom legs out toward you until the entire cabinet is laying on the floor. Things will shift but if done slowly nothing should break. Then just lift open the door, remove everything, and put the cabinet back in place.

Surround yourself in couch cushions and just try to catch them.
They're plates. It's not the end of the world if one breaks.
