Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Unplug it for 30 seconds and then plug back in... that should reset it

Get some solid wire, bend it 90 degrees and bend a loop at one end for a handle. Wrap duct tape around the other end so that it's inside-out and helps hold the plate steady. Turn the wire like a key so the tape bit rests the plate and slide open. Presto!

Cut the glass on the right and reach in and grab the plates, you'll have to fix the glass but it's better than the plates

Here's a real solution- you need to cut the glass if you want to save the plates. Cut the glass panel above to lift out the plates. Or cut the glass panel below to access the plates- post more pictures so can have a better look at the door itself

This is a Shrödinger cupboard, where plates are broken and not broken at the same time. Just ask Shrödingers cat what he did to solve it.

Put Lots and lots of pillows or cushions under or below you and the cabinets. Perhaps also bring a blanket to nicely catch the plates from closer distance. Good luck!!
