Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Call NASA to simulate zero-gravity around the house. Then open the door and chase the ceramics.

Duhhh it's a sliding door cabinet. Slide it slowly just to fit your hand in, and arrange them properly before slide open it all.

Use a drill to cut a hole in the top of the cupboard and then reach down in there and grab them

My sons solution: Buy a time-pauser, pause just as the bowls start to fall down as you open the door. Then rearrange the plates. Don't forget to in-pause once you're done.

It's easy. Bore a big hole on top of cabinet (if they mean that much to you) then reach down slowly using both arms/hands and grab ever so gently and carefully. Make sure you play some kind of mystery music while you add it. And once you got that covered, attach small boarders along side of the cupboard. And that way, they will hold without sliding off of cabinet cupboard.

Maybe break the glass panel on top where the bowls went down and pick them up slowly through the opening created.

My daughter's solution: Put a big pillow by the door, and the plates won't break when you open.

Work out the cost difference between breaking the right hand pane of glass or smashing the bowls! If breaking glass is better, break it and move the bowls. Bit of a boring answer but it might work!! Ha
