Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Count how many bowls are at risk of breaking if you open the cupboard. Compare that number with the amount of remaining good bowls and the amount people in your house. If you end up with a deficit, eliminate the extra people in your house. Now you don't have to worry about the bowls getting smashed because you don't need them.

Learn the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi and say they were always intended to be broken for such use. What's broken can be beautiful.

Gently slide the window open enough to be able to put your hand inside. The glass hold the plates firm. The friction between the glass and the porcelain isn't something to worry about - the plates will stay where they are. Start saving the plates from the 4th.

Call a glass contractor. He will just have to cut the glass from the top, reach on those stacks. No problemo.

If your bullettime is open then use it. It'll be usable again before the next cupboard. If not circle the house few times and check again.

slide the door slowly, very slowly, insert carefully whatever soft and puffy below the porcelain, extend your hand slowly to rearrange the china... don't do this with a shaking hand... good luck

Let them break... and then practise Kintsugi - the art of embracing damage. Piece the bits together. You won't view them as destroyed pieces, they become new masterpieces.

Flip the shelve. So instead of the shelve standing up, it's lying down.
