Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

It's a sliding door. So slide the door open slowly until you can reach in and correct the the problem.

Put a mattress on the floor in front of the cabinet. Open the cabinet a little to let one out and hurry and close. Repeat until they've all fell on the mattress one at a time.

I was gonna say open the door just enough to get your arm in but it looks as if There's no way to even open that door a little. I would bust out the glad beside those plates and get them that way. You can replace the piece of glass. If they are antique plates or where a family heirloom you can't replace them.

peanut butter or windex or vinegar (the trifecta of home remedies) should work in the correct combination. The execution might require a grandmotherly type of Eastern European descent, however.

If it were me I would find a bucket of water and hold it up to the cabinet and slowly open the cabinet and let the bowls fall in the water.

Put a whole bunch of pillows and cushions on the floor. When you open it, it won't smash..

Okay, empty cupboard next to it. Cut hole near dishes. Reach in and grab while holding the other door shut.

Slide the glass door slightly to the right, just enough for you to move your left hand into the cabinet. Hold the first falling plates in place, then slide the glass door open a little more. With a much wider opening, your left hand should hopefully be able to hold back the weight of most plates.
