Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Cut and remove the glass panel of the shelf below the plated and reach in to retrieve the plates that are on verge of falling off

Break bottom glass pane, and slowly support the bowls from under. I'm sure the glass pane is much easier to replace.

saw a hole that you can easily patch back up in the back of the drawer

Ok let's face the problem. Lay the floor of the cupboard with the biggest carpet you can find or a table cloth and open the door of the cupboard.

Step 1: obtain a large container/surface
Step 2: fill with a squishy foam or a layer of towels, sheets, soft surfaces.
Step3: have someone hold this container underneath the cupboard to catch the first few dishes as they fall
Good luck!

Break glass on TOP left and TOP right. Grab a chair to stand on so that u have great view of where you are about to reach into. Make sure your arms can go in without obstruction. Remove all shards carefully so as to be able to reach in (wearing gloves) to slowly pick up the dishes from left front and supporting the dishes in order (first plate pull upward, hold 2nd plate in place it is in securely, pile dishes slowly back to the far end left where they seem to be stacked and stable).

Find a bee hive, locate the queen bee. Relocate her to your cupboard by drilling a small hole and placing her inside. Open all your doors and windows for a couple weeks. The bees will build a honeycomb all around the plates and secure them. Then you can safely open the doors.

Drill a hole, stick a straw or a stick, hold the dishes while you open gently, reach out inside and fix. The hole can be left open as it won't show a lot

Open the cupboard and SLAM it back as fast as possible. Some will drop to the lower level and may break but you save most of it. This is called insurance.

Cut the upper OR side glass of the shelf. Put your hand inside the shelf, takeout the fallen dishes and then open the shelf.

Turn off clipping, reach through and restore dishes to safe position, turn on clipping and open the cupboard normally.

Open the cupboard and have a safety net out or a trampoline, bounce or catch your plates, like a stunt double. :)

Lay the cabinet on the floor and open the door. Do this very very slowly as not to break the plates as they slowly drop to the back of the cabinet

You can use a huge tub filled with water to help the plates drown in them after opening the cupboard. Be sure that it has a lot of depth so the plates swim around before losing gravitanional force.

Break the glass directly in front of the bowls and push them back into place. Remove the rest of the broken glass and no one will notice it's gone.

What if you put adhesive tape on the glass above and then you broke it carefully , and then you can take the ceramic in order.

Embarrassingly obvious: the problem here is Earth's gravity. Since gravity is a property of mass and since mass and energy are equivalent I'd simply wait for an intense solar flare to disrupt the magnetic field and offset space/time - then, when the gravitational force is disrupted, carefully reach through the quantum foam and place the dishes safely on the counter before the wormhole closes. Pay it forward, my friend.
