A good example of this is the time singer Rick Astley got Rick-rolled on Reddit. He shared a throwback photograph on r/pics, and one user, under the guise of posting a photo of meeting him backstage when they were 12, included a link to the infamous song. The replies and meta-humor just went from there, with people trying to one-up each other with witty comments, but everyone equally celebrating the fact that a years-long internet meme just came full-circle.
