Street art can completely change the way we experience an ordinary space, and French graffiti artist Pierre Bertolotti, better known as Scaf Oner, has made a specialty of doing exactly that. Using carefully constructed perspective, realistic shading, and an impressive eye for detail, he transforms bare walls, concrete pillars, abandoned buildings, and other overlooked or abandoned surfaces into elaborate 3D scenes that seem to extend far beyond their physical surroundings.
Bored Panda has featured Scaf Oner’s remarkable illusion-based street art several times before, and his latest creations show that he continues to find inventive new ways to play with scale, perspective, and his surroundings. He often works with the existing architecture rather than simply painting over it, turning corners, doorways, columns, and even entire structures into part of the illusion. The artist also frequently poses alongside his finished pieces, adding playful interactions that make the already convincing scenes feel even more alive.
