Does anyone else have any funny and irrational fears?
Example: I'm afraid of cans of biscuit dough. I'm afraid that one day my quest for buttery goodness will have me losing at a game of biscuit roulette. I will be opening a can, which will explode, and I'm left looking at the stumps where my hands used to be.

You know those big wind turbines? They scare the shite out of me. I KNOW someday they're gonna become self-aware, come down off those poles and chop everyone to bits.

I am afraid of any nuclear disaster. I am so terrified that I know exactly how to survive. Whenever I go to a new space I plan how I would know, and how I would survive. For example, on my first day of middle school I identified how I would be able to tell (aka I identified all the windows so I could see the flash), where I would go (the gym), and how to help others. I even have a plan for if people don’t make it in in time, they would be radioactive so they couldn’t come into the gym with the non contaminated people, so they would have to go to the multi purpose room
Sry it’s a bit long

That people and inanimate objects can read my mind. I can't touch people, touch the same object as them, or stand on the same floor tile as them if I'm having bad/intrusive thoughts. If I'm touching something like a door handle or a button or the sink knob I have to hold on to it until I finish the thought so it has context.

Eels... Something about those... dreadful faces... I can't stand them.
As for a story of how bad this "fear" is {first, I'm 7'4 and I was 33 years old at the time of this story.}
I went to the zoo with my baby brother for his birthday and headed over to the Fish Tank area.
There was a walk-through glass tunnel with...
You guessed it... EELS...
Just swimming and poking out all over.
My brother had to clutch my hand and let me bury my head into his shirt/Jacket so I wouldn't see them while going through the tunnel, Because every time I tried valiantly to "man up" and get close... I started crying and having a panic attack.

I, still to this day, cannot watch the movie ET. The part when he’s making the Reese’s pieces float terrified me as a child.

Showers. Yes, I take them regularly, but having to hold my breath while the water hits my face wigs me out. I think it's an extension of my fear of drowning, but my husband thinks it's hilarious to tell people I'm afraid of the shower.

You know when you pull back on s rubber band and shoot it at someone? Yeah, I am always afraid of that happening to me. I don't care if someone does it with a ponytail holder, but the idea of it happening with a rubber band scares the c**p out of me. One of my friends found this out last year and I kept flinching away when he would pull it back and he thought it was hilarious. He said it was like repellent against me.

Dogs. When I was young one...didn't necessarily "attack" me, but lunged at me. Now I'm afraid of dogs.
Now that I think of it, this doesn't really fit the title of the discussion post, does it? This fear is pretty rational.

I forgot about my second one because I don't allow them in my house...
Pictures of people. I'm convinced that they can see me from wherever they are. TV doesn't bother me, but a picture of my nieces or nephews terrifies me.

Dolls. Like the old ones, and the "fake baby " ones. When I was younger, i had to sleep by my aunt. The moment i was begining to fall asleep, i saw it. A porcelain doll on the wardrobe. This empty look terrified me, and i couldn't take my eyes off it, because i was scared it could move and get on the bed. Animatronics, puppets (on strings) also scared me.
