Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Open a little, like 2 inches, enough to fit your hanf in. Then try your best to pick up all the bowls. Good luck.

go to space, store anti-gravity in a jar, release it around the cupboard and you should be good to go

Take house to space, where gravity will let you take the plates out safely.

Take off the hinges, and while still applying pressure to the fallen plates with the door, and slide the door to the right. Have another person grab the plates out :)

Use a glass cutter to open the top pane, reach down and push the plates back onto the shelf. Open and breathe. :)

I'll do one of two things. One I could open the door slightly and reach my hand in and grab the dishes. Or I'll scoot the thing out gently and slowly then I'll very slowly lay it back then I'll open the door and put back the dishes

Just leave it alone.

If you can take the cabinet off the wall, do that. Then tilt it backwards slowly until the bowls are balances enough to open the door and remove/reposition them.
If not, disassemble the bottom of the cabinet to be able to reach in and support the bowls so you can open the door freely.

Put feather pillows all over under the cabinet
Open the door and catch as many dishes as you can
Face it not all dishes will survive

While someone holds the glass in place remove the hinges from the door. Then WITHOUT TAKING OFF THE DOOR apply the same pressure as you did before and slowly push the now movable door inward and up

Any strong force like breaking glass might affect the plates. Since there is another section of glass underneath it use diamond tipped glass cutter to get hole in there. Place cushions under it and try to push it back with hand. If it falls it will fall on cushion

Tell the plates that their choices for president are trump or Hillary...they will jump back on their shelf and immediately post their political opinion on Facebook. If this doesn't work...trampolines

Keep some pillows or something soft under the door of the cupboard...try opening the door slowly and reach out for the plates....even if the plate falls, you have the cushion underneath

Place pillows and blankets on floor. Open slowly slide available hand in to attempt to not let plates fall. If they do they will be relatively safe because of the pillows and blankets.

If it opens with the handle to the left, simply take the hinges apart on the right, open it from the right (you'll need to hold the whole door in place as it'll just fall because it isn't hinged), use a pole or stick and push everything to the far left hard against the wall. Or, take all the hinges off and slowly open the door from the top and tilt backwards so plates slowly fall onto flat horizontal door.
