Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Just apply paw paw ointment or coconut oil on the cupboard. They fix everything!

Email picture to Stephen Hawking. Wait patiently for response, and do exactly what he says.

1. Open other side.
2. Drill hole in dividing wall.
3. Stick hand through hole and hold dishes up when you open problem side.
4. Profit.

Buy a glass cutter and open a hole -big enough for your hand- to the glass next to them and fix them carefully.. if you brake the glass with force the vibration will make them slip off the door.

Place some dogs cushions below, lay thick blankets over the cushion to elevate it. You may loose a few plates but not all will be broken. Or use a long ruler(or some sorts) open the cupboard jus enough to put the stick through, hold the plates in place while you open the door. Hope it works...

Looking at the design of the divider and the handles of the cabinet door it looks like it's a sliding door. Just slide it open enough to stick your hand in and grab the dishes.

Those dishes look like Melmac in which case you don't have a problem.

Cut a hole from the back of the cabinet in a way hard to notice from front. Remove items. Replace piece with duct tape.

Unscrew the door hinges so you can maneuver the door freely. Carefully tip the door in such a way that the plates slide onto it (slide up and tip forward?)

Break the glass in rhe door above the dishes, and reach in from the top and grab them . Easier to replace the glass in the door .

Turn it into a jenga style drinking game, each player opens the door ever so slightly and drinks a shot, the player who looses is one when the plates fall out...they down the bottle and then replace the plates completely wasted and all is forgotten in the morning

Slide some cardboard through a small crack in the cupboard. Looks like a sliding door? So just ease it open and keep pressure on the board.
