Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Do or do not, there is no try. Use the force!

Buy a glass/laser cutter. Cut out the panel on the top, reach in and remove the perilous bowls. Open door and reshelf in shorter stacks this time.
Or learn an effective spell from Hogwartz or befriend Harry Potter et al for company & help.

never open the cupboard again and leave it there as a laugh and a lesson that tells us all not to stack too many plates in one pile in a cupboard

Cut a hole in the glass above the dishes and reach down inside to lift them back up.

You need the Doctor. .. He can go back in time and save this from happening, unless of course he can't because it will cause some sort of paradox.

EASY!!! Place a large pillow under the door, slowly open and let the dishes fall whilst moving about the pillow about so they don't hit each other!!!

Its not intuitive, but the solution is to ADD more plates to the top of the shelf.
Its just like a 'pop a point pencil' !!! Google it if you are confused.
Cut access holes in the glass on the top and bottom. Keep shoving any plates you dont care about in the top, eventually the ones u want come out the bottom. If u want access to the shelf later on, open the door when the plates you care about are out.

Try the spell "wingardium leviosa!" Make sure you pronounce it leviOsa, not levioSa or else you'll take someone's eye out.

It looks like maybe the doors slide. So slide open enough to a long slender item to support the bottom of the bowls until you can get your hand in it and to secure them

Easy guys... just duct-tape a sheet under the cupboard, tie the other side around your waist, fill with pillows. Have the pillow nest as close the the bottom of the cupboard as possible so the plates that do fall don't have far to go. Have someone else slowly open the cupboard while you grab as many as you can, the rest land in pillows! Maybe chip one or two at most... :)
