Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.

Take the hinges off and slide the door up. After the first inch the corner can slide in for more maneuverability.

I take it the panes of glass are removable, either held with putty, or pins, as they would have been put it last when the cupboard was made. Remove the pane of glass next to the plates and remove the plates. Put the glass back in.

Hold a stretched bedsheet underneath with some people keeping it held there and open the cupboard so they can fall safely into the stretched sheet.

Ask Kim Kardashian to stand ass-facing next to the cupboard. Open slowly.The plates will fall on her ass and be saved. With luck, a few might hit her head. Wash saved plates with Holy water before reusing.

Firstly, slide the door open as much as you can, even an inch is good enough. Then, flood the base with as much soft cloth as possible for it to act as a cushion. Get a wooden spatula with some cloth (extra grip and cushioning) attached to the end to prop the falling plates as you open the door slowly. Now you should have enough space to squeeze a hand through and rearrange the plates. It'll be a 2 man effort. And it should work. Hopefully...

Drill a hole in the wall behind the shelf, take the plates out carefully and close the hole again.. ezpz

To actually save them buy thin piece of sheet metal run it all the way up the glass. Once metal is above the top of the door and bottom duck tape the hell out of it. Then once door it open slowly start rolling the tin back from the side till you can get your arm in to remove the dishes.
