Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Drill a 6mm hole and put a wood stick of 5mm with gummi end through. Stabilize and open the door and moving the stick to let open the door.

Let's be realistic. It looks like a sliding door on the cupboard. Open it , let them fall. Have family there ready to catch and save whatever you can. Then go to the shop and replace what you lost. Or you could buy on line.
Another way, remove the bottom shelf and slowly lower it down, with the help of strong arms. Mayby you can save them that way.

There are no bowls, because their is no spoon.

Place some (or a lot of) pillows on where the plates would land.

Put the cupboard from the wall - very carefully - lay it on its back - open the door!

Id take the thin pieces of wood holding the glass panes off. Reglue them back once you get dishes out.......good luck! Id rather break a glass pane than lose my dishes....

Just in case the glass is all one pane, you could just use a glass cutter to open part of the cupboard, then, very slowly and carefully remove the lowest dishes while bracing the rest.

Climb on a ladder and remove the wood paneling at the top of cabinets also the glass. Use padded cloth to prevent any from sliding with a partner remove the dishes like Lincoln logs.

First, you'll have to invent a thingy. Then, drill a small hole in the glass, slip the thingy in, and lift the plates back onto the shelf. Easy peasy.

Practice good reflexes or have someone stand with you to catch the plates. Use thick gloves or a pillow to catch them.

You've got to move far away and start a whole new life with better bowls; there's no other way.

Lay the cupboard down horizontally. Ta-dah! Safe to open.

Place a (deep) tub/bucket full of water underneath the cupboard, open the door and let the plates fall in the water. Or ask Arnold Schwarzenegger to go back in time as Terminator to prevent the plates from falling off the shelf.
