Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Post a letter to Hermione Granger, Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry asking her to use her time turner to properly stack the dishes. Get a house elf, and tell it that the dishes must always remain safely stacked. Elf magic is powerful so, if your newly acquired elf successfully casts a no til spell on the dishes and cabinet, you can reward it with an article of clothing, thereby giving it its freedom.

If the cupboard can tip backwards then tip it backwards so the dishes will back away from the glass.

Just break the glass on the top so you can take out the plates easily. Glass cover can be replaced.

Break out the glass pane in the top left corner of the cabinet. You can then reach in and re-stack the dishes and then open the cabinet door. I can't imagine it costing more than $30 to replace the one glass pane.

turn on kitchen sink, bathroom sink, tub, etc... And plug the drains. Make sure all of the homes doors and windows are closed and sealed. Proceed to fill the house with water and then open cabinet

Seek out famed and legendary Jedi Master Luke Skywalker in the Ahch-To system and get him to teach you about the force. Just remember to prepare a lightsaber as an offering.

Very slowly & carefully tilt the entire cabinet back until it is flat on the floor.Slowly open cabinet door and remove all China from cabinet. Set it back up with a very thin splint so that it ever so slightly tilts back. Put all the China back in cabinet. Sit down and have your favorite beverage! Voila!!!

My answer would be to procure a large number of soft pillows and down comforters. Stack them under the cupboard and open safely. There may be breaks, but it is safer this way.

Cut through the side of the cupboard. Set the dishes back up and open the door without worries. Then when you feel like doing work, nail the part of the side of the cupboard tha you cut out (you can even get your husband to do this!).

Part 1: Drill a hole in the upstairs floor large enough to pass your hand through it. Re-stack the plates. Fill the hole with a recessed lamp. Now you have a nice lamp shining on your precious plates. Part 2: Install a web cam and broadcast "Plate Cam" in case they fall over again and you need to repeat this again.
