Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Film the cupboard at different angles. Post it on YouTube. Get 2 million views. Open the cupboard and use the YouTube paycheck to rebuy the dishes.

Remove the hinges on rhe cupboard door and slowly open from the other side. The new angle should allow you to get an arm in there under the bowls - and the rest of your arm can act as a buffer in case any other ones try and fall.

Fill the cupboard with clear resin, then sell it to Ripley's Believe It Or Not or at auction to the highest bidder. With the money, you can buy a new cupboard and a new china set.

Get a bunch of pillows and towels and set them on the floor (towels under pillows) and open the door quickly and try to catch them. If any fall they will fall safely onto the pillows and if the do break towels are laid down for an easy clean up.

Never bait a pedant. If the bowls can't be used because of this situation, inform your insurer of the problem. If they can't solve it or choose not to, they will probably have to indemnify you for the loss. Maybe they can subrogate to the companies that provided you with the cabinet and the bowls. But that's their problem, not yours. What are you paying them for, anyway?

Open the cupboard and then take the plates back complaining that they were damaged at the time of purchase. Alternatively, repurpose the broken plate pieces; paint them different colours and hang them from your christmas tree this year.
