Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

I think Doraemon might have some gadget to solve this problem.

the door slides, open slightly, and use the cardboard method. IF that doesn't work, any and all of the above will be just as effective. And next time buy plastic. Your local Asian store has "melamine" plates, great quality, look great and won't break like those are going to.
Please send pics of the mess, I am curious, none of hte above will work.

Remove the window on the right. A glass cutter would do. If you can, see if there is putty, so you can remove the glass without damaging it. Once the glass is removed, you can start taking the plates from the back end and even reach around to grab the few that are falling.

Ask the Slow Mo Guys Gav and Dan to film the cabinet door being opened for YouTube with a cut on the pay per clicks. Buy a couple of Ming vases with the proceeds.

Slide poster board up thru and out the top of the cabinet and make sure that the top and bottom are strongly secured. Next open the door and push the dishes back onto the shelf so you can restack them.

Call Chuck norris. Ask him to sneeze bowls back into position. If this does not help, get him to travel to China an roundhouse kick the time backwards.
Just always remember there is no problem as long as there is Chuck Norris.

You could lay it down on the ground and then slow open the door with towels in hand to cushion the adjustment of the plates. enjoy

Had that happen with my china closet, lost all but 3 of my crystal water and wine glasses. Since there was glass in the carpet, my insurance paid to replace the carpet, which I did not do.
