Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

It looks like it slides. Slide it open slowly. The pressure holding the dishes as they are should stay steady as the glass moves. When you have it open enough to reach in, do so. Push the plates carefully back toward the shelf and have a helper finish opening the door and carefully move dishes to safety.

use a shim! may not be able to save them all. But you can save what you hold on to. Use a cushion system like a inflatable mattress.

Open just enough to get a plate out. Fill with rice. Put it back and leave it to the Asians.

Cut out a door in the back of the cupboard. Or on the side or underneath. Which ever is easiest

How to do it like a witch from the the Discworld: glare at the bowls until they're incredibly embarrassed and decide to stack themselves neatly (or have the Nac Mac Feegle do it).

Simple. Cut a piece of the glass from the top with a glass cutter so you can put your hand in and arrange the bowls and the buy a new piece of glass to replace it. It costs less than to buy another set of bowls and its less messy.

Shoot them into space where gravity isn't real. Collect them neatly. Return to earth. Simple.

Insert a few strings through door, vertically, spaced out maybe 3cm. Like a harp. secure strings to main cabinet (manually holding is fine). Open door

Make a will saying that one of your heirs will get everything you own upon your death of they can get the plates out safely. If they break then they only get broken plates. It'll pretty much solve itself after that
