Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Buy $10 fill for pillow and spread thickly on top of couch cushions you took from couch, so couch cushions, then pillow soft fill on top to maximize soft landing. Put plush anywhere on the ground you think plates might hit.

You need to see a picture of the entire unit before you arrive at a solution . From this photo it seems that you cannot open the door by swinging it open . You may need to removed hinges and slide it so that your hand can reach in to support the dishes or remove carefully the critical ones .

Put a purple mattress under the cupboard and open the the door.....the eggs didn't break, so the plates shouldn't brake either.

Open the door just a crack and shove a long thing object in there, like a back scratcher or a broom handle, something to help "hold" the plates up a bit so you can ease the door open a bit more. Then someone with small hands and a small arm can reach in.
