Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Open it. Get a bit of gold to melt. Pretend you are Japanese and put them back together. More beautiful. Kintsugi - Wikipedia.

It's not impossible and no big deal. Go ahead, open it. It's okay if you break some but try to save the other plates.

Ignore the problem like the rest of the world and try a temporary solution instead. Maybe cups as bowls.

Smash the glass on right or cut a hole in the back either way it's gonna be messy

Undo the hinges that holds that door on, tilt the top towards you and it will catch em all safely

Have you seen Mission Impossible 1 through 5? Have you seen Honey I Shrunk the Kids 1 through 3? We shrink Tom Cruise, drill a microscopic hole at the top of the cupboard, and he repels down to the plates at a speed never seen before. He then shoots his a "Blow Up" ray from Honey I Blew Up the Kid, that was shrunken down with him, on a shrunken large bed pillow that he placed on the cupboard shelf below the plates as he makes a daring escape.

Put a big ass pillow on the counter to catch them before they smash onto the surface.

Slide a cookie sheet from below, upward. Open door. Use other hand to grab bowls.

Slide a thin piece of wood in like the kind of wood that is usually nailed to the back of a book shelf.

Open the cupboard door on the left...

Looks like a sliding door.
Can you slide it a little to get your hand in?
(Nerd note: are these Schodingers Plates?)

Open the door a little bit, slip your hand to hold the falling ones, and then open the door wider with the other hand.
It looks like they are bowls, not flat plates; moving the door a little bit probably won't make them fall. You can see they are kind of stacked, even the falling ones.
