Drop whatever you're doing, we have a situation in here! A stay-at-home mother has posted a picture of the 'impossible to open' cupboard and she needs your tips to open it without destroying these precious porcelain plates.
'A cupboard that can never be opened,' - read the caption. Of course, you can never throw words like 'never' online because soon after posting, the army of kind-hearted internauts came pouring in (16,000 reactions and 456 comments) to help this lady with getting her plates to safety.
What would you do in this situation? Post your answers below!
Update: The photo was actually taken after an earthquake in the Tottori Prefecture on October 21st, in a hotel owned by the Kishida family.

Open the cupboard slightly. As it starts to slip, have ready and bowl with a towel inside to catch it. Have pillows on floor to catch stragglers. Try to keep plates from falling onto the wood.

Don't helicopter parent those plates. Open the cupboard and let them fall. That is the only way they will learn not to goof around in the cupboard.

If possible, unscrew the door handle at the bottom left and remove it slowly.( No vibrations) You should have a small hole to work with. Get some cans of sticky string. Spray the bottom area to form a bed or a net and try and form a lattice structure around or in front of the bowls still on shelf. Then open the door slowly.

Simple solution... I call it THE HARRY POTTER SOLUTION!!!......
First, call harry potter, show him the situation, have him do that spell that makes stuff float in air(wingardium levio'sa)as you slowly open the compartment, your property will be saved, you thank him for this, inform Dumbledor about this......... 50 points to Griffindor!!!......... Wooooohooo!!!

Pack your things and travel to the place where Kung fu was born. Become the greatest Kung fu fighter there ever was. Reveal the answers in the sacred bamboo tree that will teach you how to become a ninja! When you have achieved the master level of ninja you will be fast enough to retrieve the plates safely. Good luck grasshopper.

you can put a towel or something soft below so it would avoid the crash by cushioning the fall.

Get one of those diamond tipped glass cutters you see thieves using in movies all the time. Cut a hole in the glass below the dish then stick your hand in and gradually move bowls to safety.
