They ficked up by getting rid of their play zones. My child used to be able to talk me into McDonalds bc I knew he'd play at least an hour there. It k****d time. Now everything is empty. They've got these huge signs that you're only welcome to stay for 30 min. And it takes 30 min to get your overpriced gross food. Bc they're using those d****d kiosks. And don't prioritize people in their store. No one is at the front counter. You have to be patient and wave your arms around to get anybody. And then they don't take any personal responsibility for getting you your food. The Whole thing has turned to expensive, frustrating s**t.

Yeah, the uncle part would always have conjured up the image that they were trying to move away from. It's one of those odd things, you grow up with it, you just don't see any racism. Very much like the golliwog logo (and the little enamel pin-badges and other promo stuff) that was still used by Robertson's marmalade when I was a kid. My sister even had a golliwog soft toy, at an age when we genuinely did not realise it was based on a caricature of a black person.
