Parents Plan To Keep A Major Secret From Their Daughter Until She’s 18, Internet Disagrees
Parents Plan To Keep A Major Secret From Their Daughter Until She’s 18, Internet Disagrees

I was lied to by my parents and their best friends and even my best friend who was the daughter of one of their best friends - her mother had told her and made her promise not to tell me: that my father was likely not my biological father. Everyone closest to me knew but me. I only found out at 23. The sense of betrayal was horrible and I still carry it around at over 40. People need to tell their children such things at as early an age as possible, with age appropriate words and only age appropriate details of course. But it cannot be a lie that the children find out about later. It cannot be a secret, it has to be out in the open.

52 Women Share The Dumbest Examples Of A “Pink Tax” They’ve Experienced

I rarely wear makeup. It makes my skin itch like crazy and I've got more important things to spend my money on. Not only that but my eyesight is poor and without my glasses I can't see to apply it, even with the mirror right up close to my face. I just end up looking like a clown. What you see is what you get with me and I really don't care if people don't like it.

A friend is having problems getting hers. I'm not on HRT because my doctor but didn't believe in it. She retired so believe me I'm checking for the new one at my next appointment.

I loathe wearing makeup. My mother was born in 1944 and she is of the generation/mentality that believes a woman shall not go out in public without a full face of makeup, perfectly coiffed hair, and well-dressed. She will spend an hour putting on makeup just to go to the grocery store for 15 minutes. I have confused and infuriated her all my life with my refusal to wear makeup on a daily basis. I'm prone to acne (still! I'm 44!) and wearing makeup makes me break out, plus I hate how itchy it makes me and I hate the work I have to do to clean it off/remove it. No thank you. I don't need to calculate my value by the amount of makeup I slather onto my face. I am worthy and I am a real woman even if I don't wear makeup to go to the grocery store.

I said to one of my colleagues the other day that when we d*e and go to hell, it can't possibly be worse than being at work.

That's about 5 minutes after I sit at my desk. I get disturbed and put onto other jobs so often that a half an hour task takes about 4 hours.

And this surprises exactly who? I thought everyone already knew that... snd this is coming from someone who is 100% aware, but still guilty of a designer splurge once in awhile.

I wish more people realized that keeping their near d***h loved one alive by artificial means, or keeping him or her conscious instead of medicated to make them comfortable, is incredibly selfish.
