These days who doesn't like zombies, right? I have to say I was pretty amazed when zombies became a mainstream attraction and basically a household item, but I was also pretty excited. As an artist who works mostly in the macabre, it was exciting to think that the average person might actually look at some of my work instead of rolling their eyes and looking away or just being grossed out.
This sculpture took me 10-15 hours to complete. I sculpted it with Super Sculpey polymer clay and painted it with FW acrylic inks. The wet blood is a crimson red high gloss stain that my sister, who is also an artist, handed to me a couple years ago and said "you've got to try this!" and I'm glad she did. It's a paint line called Vitrail from Pebeo and it is by far the best wet blood color I've used to this day.
