Of course, at the end of the day, whether you get seated next to a chatty stranger or someone watching videos at full volume is mostly a matter of luck.

It also helps to come prepared yourself. Noise-canceling headphones can make a huge difference. Having a podcast or playlist ready can give you something else to focus on. Comfortable clothes can make the whole journey a little easier too.

And if there’s any consolation, the pain won’t last forever. Eventually, the plane will land, the doors will open, and you’ll be able to get off.
