In the modern time there are many kind of exercises available. Because of these counter balancing poses we get flexibility and strength together. In yoga, if we stretch any muscles, then on the same time we contract that muscles; that’s why we get the flexibility and strength together at the same time. But in other kind of activities either we stretch the muscles or contract the muscles. So we get either flexibility or strength.

For example –
1. Like runners they always contract their leg muscles but never stretch it; that’s why forward bending is becoming very challenging and some people start feeling lower back pain. So, the most of these people have good strength but not good flexibility. I’m not saying that running is bad. It’s very good, but if you are doing gentle forward bending after running to release the tension of muscles. If you run one hour then after one hour of running, you should do at least 15 minute of forward bending for sure.
2. Those people who are doing gym they have good strength but not really good flexibility, because they always use their muscles in one direction but not doing the opposite stretch of that. Same thing is here that after doing the weight lifting we should do some opposite stretches to not to lose the flexibility.
3. People who are doing dancing most of them have good flexibility but not really good strength. Because these people are also doing the stretches in one direction not in both direction to get the flexibility.
So final, conclusion is that we should always do anything with using counter balance stretches. So we will get the flexibility and strength together on the same time. And in yoga we always do that. So we get the flexibility and strength together.
