Bored Panda wanted to learn more about this lighthearted series, so we asked Diana a few more questions. The cartoonist told us how she got inspired to start creating ‘Benny Bronto’: “I’ve always wanted to create a comic or animation, but I can’t animate yet, so a comic was the easier way to get a story out for my characters.”
The artist also shared with us the most difficult aspect of being an artist in today’s world: “The most challenging is finding motivation to keep going, especially when you have to also create content to promote yourself on social media. Unfortunately, if you want to be seen, you need to do a little bit of that.“
We also learned which fellow artists influenced Diana’s work: “I love the old school Sunday comics, ‘Peanuts’ or ‘Calvin and Hobbes.’ I also like independent comics who post on Instagram such as ‘poorly drawn lines.’”
Lastly, the creator of ‘Benny Bronto’ shared with us what she finds most rewarding about sharing her work online: ”When I see people relating or enjoying my comics is a nice feeling.”
