Dear Bored Panda team,
I'd like to share with you my new fashion film; I'm the crossover mixed-media and previous collaborations include Oscar de la Renta and Vogue Australia.
This is the project that portrays my personal journey through healing and mental health battles; I hope to inspire and share my story in this short narrative with anyone who might need help.
Inspired by the German Expressionist movement, the short film explores the concept of personal hells and the Buddhist belief that any hell is escapable, but everyone must find their own way out.
Struggles of the creative industry pushed me to a depression and the belief that a career in music was over. Instead, as I healed, I decided to eschew the industry and bring my passions of film, fashion and music together.
That's how the concept of Hell Beings was born. Shot in rough aesthetic and thick broad strokes, the film deals with themes of entrapment and the dying of the light. Completed in late 2019 and nominated over Istanbul Fashion Film festival, I hope the film may act as a trigger for others to discuss their mental health issues and begin the journey towards healing.
