To begin with, I do not mean Minimal in terms of the minimalist lifestyle of having next to nothing in one's apartment. While I personally support the movement, that's not exactly all that we're about. When I think of Minimal Thrift I think of a minimalist style that isn't overwhelming to the eye, such as the products offered in the store. From the watches to the sunglasses and fountain pens, I want to provide a large array of products that add to everyone's catalog of fashionable add-ons.
Minimal Thrift is the aesthetic I've always been attracted to. Minimal Thrift is the way I see the world (weird, I know). I see the world in symmetry and order, yet with just enough rebellion to balance it all out.
I was born and raised in Miami, arguably one of the fashion capitals of the world along with Paris and Milan (emphasized: arguably). Because of this and being born in a Latino household, specifically Dominican, looking one's best was always an expectation. Now, I was never one to care much about how I was dressed, but because I felt everything was too much. I felt overwhelmed seeing so many colors mixed and matched. Not to say that it looked bad, but it just wasn't for me. Because of this, my growing taste for the simple thing found itself in my style, so I had to find a way to find exactly what I was looking for.
Minimal Thrift was born in Miami with a taste for the opposite of the extravagant lifestyle lived here. I don't think there's anything better than the simple side of the less important things that way we can all focus on the most important things in our lives. Why do you think some of the most successful people wear the most simple clothes?
