Balloon Art To Relieve Stress...

I'm a Finnish balloon artist. It all started in August 2014:
I went to a local store with my kids and ended up buying a bag of twisting balloons. I thought this would be a nice way to spend an evening with kids – twist some balloon dogs and some other simple animals...
It took about an hour and all the balloons were either transformed into dog, mouse, giraffe… while rest of the balloons explolded. Even if the balloon twisting was fun with kids, I was really annoyed about the fact, that the balloons exploded so easily. This was the main reason I googled for “professional balloon twisting” – just to see, if there actually were better balloons, that can be handled like I had seen professionals to handle their balloons.
I ended up on a forum, where I found discussion about "best modelling balloons". I ended up ordering a couple of bags of professional quality 260 balloons from ebay based on the recommendation I found from the forum.
After twisting a bag of balloons, I started to look for more challenging designs from YouTube and elsewhere and found out that balloons can be manipulated into extremely beautiful sculptures. Very quickly I found out that balloons were a perfect way to relieve stress for me... I was able to completely forget the surrounding stressful "real life" when creating balloon sculptures. I also noticed, that even though I had never considered being an artistic person (or even so much interested in art), I had one skill that helped me a lot in making balloons - spatial perception. After couple of months, I started designing my own sculptures and using all possible balloon sizes there were available.
After learning some more advanced techniques, I have been able to create more realistic and/or more complex balloon creations for example by distortion and double-stuffing. I try to learn something new every time I twist balloons - that is what brings me the joy - on addition to knowing that some one else can also find inspiration and joy from my work.
I get inspired by everyday objects, art pieces, animals and human beings - sometimes also just by my own imagination. I use only latex balloons (no glue, no supporting materials, no pencils or paint) and try to make something unique every time. I post my pictures to bring joy, amazement and inspiration!
