Two for one is a pretty sweet deal, especially when it happens in your creative practice. Here's the short story:
One early morning we visited the edge of the Pacific Ocean, looking east, near a 300m long pier just north of Brisbane in Australia. It turned out to be one of the most stunning sunrises we've ever seen, shifting from dark blue to blazing gold.
Mobile film-maker JNXYZ (Jona Nalder) was there to capture the footage. Would you believe on his iPhone 6? With footage this good, we knew we wanted to make a music-video. To our pleasant surprise, back in the studio, we realised we could carve up the 4K imagery into not one but TWO mirrored films.
So electronica musician HHAARRPP (Luke Jaaniste) selected two existing tracks that matched the atmosphere and drama of the footage, and reworked his tracks to fit each film.
Thus, we created a pair of music-films: BLOOD MOON, using the top half of the footage, gazing up to sped up clouds. And LINES IN THE SAND, using the bottom half, staring down into the lapping ocean.
