Have you ever been to a classical music concert or seen a live ballet? Have you ever wanted to but just don't know where to start, what to wear, when to clap, who to go with, etc?
We made this classical music video because we want to put classical performing arts on the digital concert stage where modern audiences are. Sometimes people just prefer to experience it first on their online medium of choice, social media and video productions.
We want to break the mold of what people think "classical" music or dance should be.
The Prick of the Spindle video project took 13 months to complete. It is a reimagination of the story of Sleeping Beauty through the eyes of Aurora, the Evil Witch, and Prince Desire.
Everything you experience is original content. Dannielle McBryan composed the music you hear, and Wavelength Winds (Thomas J. Wible, Naomi Harrow-Franklin, Lydia Consilvio, Natalie Groom, Derek Maseloff, Qun Ren) recorded the music and were in the video. Anneke Belman designed the choreography, and we had a fantastic team of dancers (Dawn Gierling Milatin, Paige Bodnar, Raeman Kilfoil) along with our videographer and editor.
