Me and my artist buddy are very keen to get kids into unleashing their creative potential, especially through stories and comics, so we created a book that does just that.
Building Worlds is a spin-off to our previous comic, Alien in the Outfield, in which the characters show the reader how to tell stories and make comics, whilst going on their own adventure through a dimension of pure imagination. It's aimed at younger readers (7-14) and the book teaches the fundamentals of character, plot, themes, art, colour and much more, in a humorous and accessible style. It's also got giant robots, dinosaur armies, electric guitars and pop-culture parodies!
The book is available for digital download now on a pay-what-you-like basis, meaning it is freely available. We wanted readers young and old to be able to access the book at this time when so many people are stuck indoors, with children needing outlets for their creativity. We hope Building Worlds will provide some entertainment, information and inspiration.
